My name is Jacob Nardy and I’m the founder of MMF (Make Music Fast).
I started this site to ‘simplify’ music production.
My LOVE is music. Whether it’s making it or listening to it.
The listening part was easy but when it came to producing my own stuff, the ‘technical’ jargon and ‘nerdy’ stuff (Decay, Ratio, Delay, Threshold, etc) really turned me off.
I felt like it was stifling my creativity. Once I got over that ‘technical’ hump (Thanks to learning from professionals), everything fell in it’s place.
So my goal with MMF is to simplify this ‘hump’ to the tee and help you connect with professional music teachers.
Are you tired of dreaming about making good music?
Forget about making good music, when was the last time you actually finished a proper track?
Or hold up . . . When was the last time you actually finished ‘a’ track?
Exactly . . .
Sorry if I sound harsh but I use to be in the same boat. In fact, for several years, all I did was make loops on Fruity Loops on my PC and then later on the Apple iPhone app.
As time started passing by, I began to think that if I want to get serious about music production and get a track or two out there, making loops isn’t going to cut it. Anyone can make loops. I need to learn proper music production and FAST!
Yes honing your skills takes time but acquiring the proper knowledge shouldn’t.
So I began my journey and probably did what you did as well. I went on Youtube and tried learning from tutorials. At first it was definitely exciting to see what everyone was doing but it was kind of hard to understand . . . Especially if you have no clue about a EDM producer’s jargon (Low pass, high pass, etc).
To be serious, the jargon and the knobs and stuff were one of the main reasons why I didn’t try to learn music production in the first place. I’m not a ‘techy’ person. I mean I wanted to learn how to make my own music but not become some ‘scientist’. Looked kind of boring too.
Anyways, I decided that if I want to translate the banging music ideas that I have in my head into reality, I have to learn the ‘skills’ first. I have to learn sound design, EQing, layering leads, etc
I started thinking that if I get involved now, this is going to be not only too techy for me but also long as f**k. After all, I don’t want to have my first hit track when I’m in my 40s or something.
So I decided to find someone who I kind of want to emulate. Someone who is not only a good producer but actually has real life experience as a professional musician. Not some local producer sharing his knowledge for some cash, I wanted to learn from someone who actually has tracks released by the labels and companies I want to get involved with. You know . . . A REAL producer / DJ.
After taking a couple real EDM music production courses and couple Masterclasses. I finally figured out how to create a static track, mix it and master it 🙂
That’s where I’m at today.
All I have to do is keep making tracks and keep getting better (Honing my craft). I personally think I need to work on my lead and 808 (Bass) game but overall I’m doing good.
Bottom line, what I avoided learning for 10 years was all acquired in just a few months!
In fact, here is a little before and after.
I learned from professionals. I took the short cut to success. More like the ‘smart’ cut. I learned how to get organized, how to find super clean professional samples and bang out tracks FAST!
On this site, you will find information on the exact same courses and Masterclasses that I took.
Plus any other tips and trick that I presently pick up.
My goal is to make INCREDIBLE and BANGIN Music!
If that’s your goal as well, welcome to Make Music FAST 🙂
