Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences

Indiana University Center for Electronic and Computer Music
CECM currently has two studios in which students explore digital sound synthesis, recording, editing, and sampling, as well as theory and computing. The program can act as a minor for a music degree.
Indiana University Jacobs School of Music
The Jacobs School conservatory has a broad range of study, as well as focused curriculum, with more than 1,100 performances every year for its students to display their talent. Now they have an awesome (Limited to just 15 students) program on audio engineering in the works.

University of Southern Maine
As the only School of Music in a public university in New England, They also offer a small courae on Audio and video production. Not a bad way to start learning about audio engineering genre. Information you will learn on video editing will definitely help you in making your own music videos or what not.
George Washington College
Besides Recording Connection, this place is the only one in Maryland that is teaching proper music production. Great school with some nice history behind it. They use electronic musician friendly software like Ableton.
Offers one of the best music production programs in the area. The Berklee music production and engineering program is definitely one of the best and has the artist roster to prove it. Work with real industry professionals who’ve worked with the likes of P Diddy, Too $hort, David Bowie and many more.
Mmmmaven’s classes deal with the basics of producing digital music, as well as dealing with the different aspects of the art. Their labs are kitted with a variety of tools such as Logic, Traktor Pro, and Ableton Live 9.
Western Michigan University
WMU’s School of Music seeks to improve the quality of life for those involved in music, whether that be in traditional music or technology. They offer several courses that go deep with chord progression and keyboard playing. We are not sure if there is a specific section on audio engineering but they do dive into electronic music in one of their sections.
University of Michigan
University of Michigan’s Department of Performing Arts Technology dedicates itself to improving music production through technological means, giving performance a new aesthetic. They offer a killer degree (Bachelor of Music in Music and Technology) that can get you in the electronic music production game in no time.
An affordable music production school, Slam Academy has three themed modules, and has an unconventional educational environment free from letter grading and academic testing. These guys even have a course on Sound design.
MacPhail Center for Music
MacPhail has lessons both individual and shared, hosts educational camps, and ensembles. There is a range of choices for where you choose to take your musical education.

EI By Nelly
Yup it’s a real, founded by the famous rapper Nelly AND it’s called EI (Like the song if you forgot). Learn proper music production here with tons of producers who have real life experience with actual stars. Just because it’s founded by a rap legend, doesn’t mean it’s just for hip hop either. They offer courses on recording and audio engineering here.
Montana State University
MSU School of Music covers composition, conducting, performance, and recording arts. With plenty of opportunities to perform, the Music Technology degree prepares prospective graduates to enter the music industry. Not many electronic music production programs start with synthesis but this one does. That is absolutely brilliant!
University of Nebraska
Complete minor in Audio production. Some pre-requisites must be completed before entering there music programs. The Music Technology Minor program also dabbles into video which can come in handy especially when you intially start off promoting your EDM tracks on your own.
Postmouth Music and Arts Center
The non-profit music school offers opportunities for students to improve their skills in music and visual arts production. They offer an intro class on music production for 12-18 year olds.
Manchester Community Music School
Taking in more than a thousand students from across New Hampshire, MCMS is home to 50 of the finest musical educators in New England. They offer several courses on music technology and recording.
University of New Mexico
UNM’s music classes cover a large variety of instruments and vocal performance, for all levels of experience. They offer a certificate on Music Production that uses Logic Pro X as a DAW.
Third Street Music School Settlement
Third Street’s Sound Recording program has introductory classes in recording, leading students onto the road of music-production in its various forms. The only sad part about their music production program is that it’s only for 12-18 year olds.
University of North Carolina Asheville
With Bob Moog’s electronics music studio and another one in the their arsenal, UNCA is ready to help you reach your electronic music production goals. They currently offer a degree (Bachelor of Science and Music Technology) that will help you how to mix and get the professional sound.
The Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma
The Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma offers students real industry-based experience, making its two year Associate’s Degree a unique program for prospective students.
University of South Carolina School of Music
They have an audio engineering program and are also developing an undergraduate degree for it.
Belmont University | Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business
Better known as Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business, was named one of the top 10 music business schools in the U.S. by Billboard Magazine.
University of Texas at Austin | Butler School of Music
They have a separate department for electronic music production. Enough said.
Salt Lake DJ and Production
Salt Lake DJ and Production offers a comprehensive education in the foundations of music theory, sound, and production, both within its studio and in the form of online classes. Love the fact that they offer Music production that is DAW (Software used to make music) specific. Like separate programs for Ableton and Logic Pro, etc.
Granger School of Music
With their own “Granger Method,” Granger School will cover the basics of performing music, then will guide you to create your own original work. They have a electronic music course and a DJ program as well.
BEAU Art School
A part of the Broadview Entertainment Arts University, BEAU seems to be on point with their electronic music production courses. They offer various options when it comes to professional audio engineering.
Salt Lake Community College
The Music Department of SLCC offers two good options for budding music producers.
Harbourside Institute of Technology
Offering abroad range of courses in programs such as ProTools, Push Labs, and providing instruction in songwriting, sound design, and studio maintenance, students at the Harbourside Institute of Technology will work their way up to Advanced Recording Artist Development. Harbourside IT in North Vancouver remains the only Canadian school certified in teaching Ableton.
School of Remix
School of Remix offers its courses to people of all ages as the only official DJ school in Vancouver. Their approach is to personalize the learning environment for their students, and allow room for growth with plenty of creative freedom.
Based in Vancouver, the Nimbus School of Recording & Media sets out to cater to their students by offering a mentor ship style of teaching with all day, every day access to their studios for recording. Nimbus Recording makes it their goal to teach their students skills beyond music production mechanics, so that they can expand into the business side and artistry of the industry.
Centre for Arts and Technology
The Kelowna digital arts school is one of the best-known colleges in Canada for audio engineering, helping students to build contacts and network in the industry.
Music and Audio Technical Training Institute
MATTI is an exclusive Kelowna school with an apprenticeship style of teaching.
They offer a part time Digital Music Production certificate program. Which is open to international students as well.
Off Centre DJ School
Toronto’s Off Centre DJ School fosters a creative environment, with small class sizes in accordance to their philosophy of having fun with music technology. Now into their thirteenth year of, they incorporate different elements from different eras, with a wide selection of vinyl available. They are offering full on DJ / Producer programs and certificate courses.
Providing Individual training to produce independent artists, producers and engineers, Noize Faktory covers composition, DJing, mixing, recording, and performing. Noize Faktory seeks to find a place for artists in the Canadian electronic music industry.
Recording Arts Canada
The Recording Arts Canada schools were founded in 1984 is home to Grammy-winning instructors. With their roots in a small indie studio, RAC has long since expanded and allows its students to spend all their time in hands-on environments with digital equipment.
OIART’s 11-month intensive program limits its class sizes to no more than five students, more than 600 hours use of the studio facilities, and career counselling.
Metalworks is located in Toronto. Their electronic music production program is known to be affordable, and ideal for independent artists who intend to record in their private studios.
Night Vision Music Academy
The downtown Edmonton music production school has been around since 2013, and offers classes to ages twelve and above, with four to eight students in each class.
Pixel Blue College
Teaching students moderns kills in music production, the Digital Audio production program at Pixel Blue College begins with educating students in the theory of music.

Mid-Ocean School of Media Arts

India’s largest DJ and EDM Music Production School. Founded in 2005, not it’s home to students from 20 countries. They say their placement assistance rate is at 100% (Basically helping you get a job as a music producer). First we were kind of baffled with that claim but apparently, their job placement connections are worldwide so it is definitely possible. If you are and EDM music producer in New Delhi, this school is for you.
I Love Music
Love the name 🙂 – I love Music claims to be ‘THE’ school for electronic dance music production in India. They also seem to back up their claim with partnerships with brands like Native Instruments, Ableton and many more.
